VOL-UN-TEER:
1. A person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking.
2. A person who performs a service willingly and without pay.
There are so many volunteers out there, and it’s unbelievable to see. Recently I was honored to be a part of a Community 101 class, that got to grant 5,000 dollars to non-profit organizations. Through this process, I got to see how many people volunteer daily to help out others in need in my community. Once I saw how these volunteers were impacting others lives, it really interested me in helping out. However, needing to be 19, I am ineligible to volunteer. But, I am looking forward to the day I can, so I can be a mentor for young needing students!

“Lets come out with the three D’s tonight”, my basketball coach Ms. Tuma would say before just about every game. (The three D’s being Desire, Drive and Determination). It never really ocurred to me how much I looked up to Tuma until this past basketball season. It started when I tore my acl, and her sharing with me that she got through the struggles and hard times of recovering from such a injury as well, which gave me hope and the willingness to come out and give basketball another go. Which was one of the best decisions I have made. When basketball time came and we hit the court, she brought out a mental toughness in me that I didn’t know I had, and have never seen. Tuma made me see a whole new mental side of the game, that has helped me in my every day life and has carried on to softball. I’m so thankful to have such a great coach that has been through the battles and knows so much about the game. She went to Portland State University, and without her mentality, physical preparation, and hard work the journey to get there would have been a much longer route. Not only is she my coach, but she is my hero as well.

Orange, my favorite color. Reminds me of times well spent. The stadium of a Saturday night Oregon State football game is filled with the bright color of orange.
The summer sun setting so beautiful and bright it reflects a shade of orange, that can set anyone at ease after a long day.

And when the sun comes out, so do the prettiest flowers.

No longer do I abbreviate my words or miss spell any for that matter, because if I do, Mrs. Hoke is right there to score and say that changes need to be made. I know that if I do not spell my words correctly that people from all over the country might not know what I am talking about. That is only one of the many reasons how blogging has impacted my life. It is also a easy way to see what is going on in other parts of the world, and how different I live compared to someone in Argentina. Blogging has been a great experience and has made my punctuation get better.

My knowledge on Earth Day and Earth Hour is little to none. I actually didn’t even know there was a Earth Hour. Yet, after seeing the different campaigns and activities people are doing all over the world, it really inspires me. It makes me realized people really do care about our world, and brings back the quote… “Together we can make a difference”. A lot of people have taken action and have started helping one of these campaigns and I think it is really awesome to see such passion about the earth.

Two scientists were in the lab, conversing about how to reproduce human kind through chemicals and genes. As they got close to the end of the experiment they realized that what they created was two monsters. One that had huge arms and one that had huge legs due to the characteristics the genes had given them. They escaped the tubes that held them to the experiment wires and swam out in the ocean.
My dad said if he could shoot him with the rifle then he would die and everything would be okay. The monster would come at night, and he would give off a bright light that shows you when he is close around. So that night the bright light had came as expected and he rampaged through our house, breaking everything that stepped in his way.
The rifle wasn’t loaded and the long legged beast kept rummaging through our stuff. My cat, Rascal, decided he could take the huge thing. The monster all of a sudden turned into a cat and started wrestling my kitty. I got defensive and started hitting the more aggressive cat with my softball bat. The cat stopped putting up a fight and the other one ran quickly behind the dryer.
I ran over to see if Rascal was okay. He looked like Puss N’ Boots and out of no where he attacked me and I then realized that I had been attacking Rascal with the bat instead of the monster. My dad finally came downstairs and shot the monster.
That was when I woke up to find it was only a scary nightmare!

In Jennies podcast it really made me want to listen to more. I have already read the book, but when I was listening it was like a summary of the whole book. I really liked how she used another voice for Edwards tone. It really made it seem like it was the real thing.
The music she used for it was really relaxing yet intense when she was telling about the story, it fit it well. It was perfect size and I really want to come out with something like this, where my listeners are going to enjoy it.
